Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer at Merqato, you will play a pivotal role in building, optimising and managing our data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building the first product: Collaborate in a cross-functional team to build the data infrastructure and ETL pipelines to guarantee the integrity of the data powering our commercial MVP.
• Designing a future-proof infrastructure: Deploy infrastructure as code, automated testing strategies, monitoring and alerting tools employing CI/CD best practices to deploy regularly to production.
• Ensuring the platform performance: Ensure our data systems are cost-effective, fast and and offer best in class data security.
• Guaranteeing best-in-class technology: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments to always implement the right technology to support our impact.

What you need to succeed:

• Broad and varied experience (3+ years): You have successfully built data platforms in the cloud and have a expert opinions about the merits of different tools and frameworks.
• Solid data engineering skills: You are passionate about building, managing and optimising robust data infrastructures and implementing best practices while keeping in mind the here and now.
• Some ML/AI knowledge: You have experience working with ML/AI models and are excited to collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists.
• Product-led team spirit: You’re an excellent communicator, team player and product-led data engineer.
• Start up mindset: You have played a crucial role in an early-stage startup, demonstrating your ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
